A Lego Harry Potter sorting hat is now available, and it actually talks

It’s safe to say just about every Harry Potter fan has likely dreamed of having their name called and the Sorting Hat officially assigning them a house. And now, they can do just that right at home in a Lego version.

Lego just launched a new set that allows builders to construct the infamous pointy cap — and yes, it talks. Plus, it’s available at Amazon right now.

The talking sorting sat is an unmissable addition to any collection of Harry Potter Lego sets. While Potterheads might be thrilled, several other new sets are worth checking out, too, including Marvel Lego sets, Star Wars Legos, and more.

Lego Harry Potter Talking Sorting Hat

$100 at Amazon

This set is easily one of Lego’s most magical options. After assembling the 561 pieces, builders will have a slightly scaled-down version (9.5 inches high) of the legendary sorting hat, with all the folds and that iconic grouchy face.

It’s made to be perched atop your head and, thanks to a sound brick, will deem what house you’re fated to. It has 31 separate sounds, so it’s worth passing around to your friends for them to find out, too. When it’s not needed for designation duties, it comes with a stand that features the emblems of each of Hogwarts’ four houses. A minifigure of Harry wearing a mini sorting hat is included, too.

If this set has you stoked, there are even more new Lego sets to scoop up this month.

More than 5,000 people have already snapped up the set in the past month, and the satisfied reviews are starting to roll in. Dune superfan or not, one reviewer, who deemed this pick “challenging and astounding,” commented that “this is by far one of the most complex and rewarding builds I’ve ever done.”

The kit is ideal for fans ages 10 and up, and it comes with a cool stand, an information plaque about R2, and a Darth Malak Minifigure.

More than 1,000 shoppers have already purchased one during the last month it was available in the pre-order phase, so it’s clear this collectible should get a spot on your shelf, too.
